Sonic (555 Tower)
A 600-foot, 42-story Vulcan-built office tower opened in 2023, leased to Amazon and known as Sonic, tying for tallest in Bellevue.
The 555 Tower, now branded Sonic, is a 600-foot, 42-story office skyscraper in Downtown Bellevue developed by Vulcan Real Estate and designed by NBBJ. Completed and opened in September 2023, it was Bellevue's first building to reach the city's 600-foot height limit and remains among its tallest structures.
The tower adds roughly one million square feet of mixed-use space, including about 968,000 square feet of Class A office and around 28,000 square feet of retail, anchored by a standalone retail pavilion ringed by activated open space. Amazon leases and occupies the building as part of its rapid Eastside expansion.
Standing at the heart of Bellevue's central business district near the transit center, Sonic helped define the city's modern skyline and signaled the wave of supertall office development that followed Bellevue's 2017 decision to raise downtown height limits.
