989 Elements
A residential high-rise complex in the Ashwood District; its 989 Elements tower was Bellevue's first rental apartment high-rise.
989 Elements, together with its companion phase Elements Too, forms a residential high-rise complex in the Ashwood District on the eastern side of Downtown Bellevue. The original 989 Elements tower, completed in 2006, rises about 26 stories (roughly 288 feet) and is recognized as the first rental apartment high-rise built in Bellevue.
Designed by Seattle architecture firm CollinsWoerman, the development was later expanded with Elements Too, which added a 22-story residential tower plus a 13-story mid-rise building, completed around 2009. The combined complex spans the area near 111th and 112th Avenues NE.
By introducing high-rise rental living to Bellevue, 989 Elements marked an important shift in the city's housing market and helped catalyze the wave of apartment towers that followed across downtown over the next two decades.
