PACCAR Tower
Bellevue's first high-rise, a 1970 Brutalist office tower that remains the headquarters of truck maker PACCAR Inc.
PACCAR Tower is widely regarded as Bellevue's first true high-rise. Completed around 1970 as the headquarters of PACCAR Inc., the Fortune 500 manufacturer of Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks, the building helped launch downtown Bellevue's transformation from a suburban shopping district into a high-rise business center.
The 13-story, roughly 170-foot tower is one of the region's most intact examples of Brutalist architecture, with a heavy board-formed concrete exterior and deeply recessed windows. Despite its historical significance, it has never been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
PACCAR continues to occupy the building as its corporate headquarters, making it one of the few original downtown towers still serving its founding tenant more than half a century later.
