QFC - Downtown Bellevue
Downtown Bellevue QFC supermarket; QFC is the Bellevue-headquartered Northwest grocery chain whose roots trace to a 1950s Lake Hills store.
QFC (Quality Food Centers) operates a downtown Bellevue supermarket at 10116 NE 8th Street, one of several QFC stores across the city. QFC is headquartered in Bellevue and is the Pacific Northwest supermarket chain now owned by Kroger.
The chain that became QFC was founded in 1955 in Seattle, but its Bellevue ties run deep: a Bellevue grocery called Lake Hills Thriftway was sold to QFC in 1960, and the company is today based in Bellevue. QFC grew aggressively through acquisitions, taking over former A&P stores in 1974 and absorbing chains such as Olson's, Johnny's and several Thriftway stores in the 1990s.
With multiple Bellevue locations in downtown, Crossroads, Factoria, Northtown and east Bellevue, QFC is woven into the city's everyday retail fabric and remains one of its most familiar local-grown grocery brands.
