Bellevue Square

Bellevue Square, locally known as Bell Square, is an enclosed regional shopping mall in downtown Bellevue and the heart of The Bellevue Collection. It first opened on August 20, 1946 as the open-air Bellevue Shopping Square, anchored by Frederick & Nelson, making it one of the earliest suburban shopping centers in the country.

The center was rebuilt and fully enclosed in 1985 under developer Kemper Freeman Jr., when The Bon Marche joined as a department-store anchor. The Bon Marche became Bon-Macy's in 2003 and Macy's in 2005, while Nordstrom, which began in the Square as a shoe store in 1958 and became a full anchor in 1966, grew into one of the chain's top-performing stores.

Today Bellevue Square offers about 1.3 million square feet of gross leasable area across three levels and more than 200 stores. It mixes mass-market and contemporary retailers such as Zara and Uniqlo with luxury brands and flagship-style stores including Apple, Tesla and Crate & Barrel, and is consistently the busiest mall on the Eastside.
