Bellefields Trailhead at Mercer Slough Nature Park
The east-side entrance to Mercer Slough, where the Bellefields and Heritage loop trails wind through upland forest, wetland and meadow.
The Bellefields Trailhead lies on the east side of Mercer Slough Nature Park and is one of the main access points to the slough's trail network. From here the path loops through upland forest, scrub-shrub wetland and open meadow before reaching the edge of the slough channel.
The trailhead anchors the 0.8-mile Bellefields Loop Trail and connects to the 1.1-mile Heritage Loop Trail, a popular combined route through the park's varied habitats. The boardwalk sections allow close views of the wetland without disturbing it.
Historically the Bellefields area was farmland on the drained slough margins, and today it is a quiet, less-trafficked counterpart to the busier Bellevue Way side of Mercer Slough, prized by walkers and birdwatchers.
