Equestrian residential neighborhood · Bridle Trails
Bridle Trails
Bellevue's wooded equestrian neighborhood of large lots, horse pastures, and trails clustered around Bridle Trails State Park.
Bridle Trails is Bellevue's equestrian neighborhood area in the city's northern reaches, named for its proximity to Bridle Trails State Park. The neighborhood straddles the boundaries of Bellevue, Kirkland, and Redmond, and many properties feature equestrian infrastructure such as barns, pastures, and access to riding trails.
The area is heavily wooded, with large single-family lots and roughly two-thirds of the land covered by second-growth timber. Residents have historically accepted extra regulation to protect the tree canopy and preserve the rural, forested character that distinguishes the neighborhood from Bellevue's denser districts.
Bridle Trails State Park, the wooded centerpiece, offers miles of equestrian and walking trails through tall second-growth forest, reinforcing the low-density, nature-oriented identity that has defined the neighborhood since its mid-20th-century development.
