Somerset

A prestigious hillside neighborhood in south Bellevue prized for sweeping views from a roughly 1,000-foot summit over the region.

Somerset is a sought-after hillside neighborhood in south Bellevue, known for its territorial and city views from a hill that rises to more than 1,000 feet. On clear days homes look out over downtown Bellevue, the Seattle skyline, Lake Washington, the Olympic Mountains, and Mount Rainier, and the summit is a favorite vantage point for Seafair's Blue Angels and Fourth of July fireworks.

Construction of Somerset's 22 divisions began in the 1960s, with the last division completed in the late 1970s. The fully built-out neighborhood contains more than 1,200 homes ranging from mid-century to contemporary designs, many on expansive lots and updated over the decades.

The neighborhood's elevation, view-oriented street layout, and established single-family housing have made it one of Bellevue's premier hillside communities, with a strong community identity tied to its scenic setting.
