Bellevue City Hall
Bellevue's nine-story city hall, a former telephone-company building reopened as municipal headquarters in 2006.
Bellevue City Hall is the seat of the city government and home to most municipal departments, including the main Bellevue Police station and fire administration. The nine-story, roughly 476,000-square-foot building sits in the heart of downtown at 450 110th Ave NE.
The structure was originally completed in 1983 for Pacific Northwest Bell. That company was later absorbed into US West and then Qwest. The City of Bellevue agreed to purchase the building in November 2002 for about $29 million, initially to house public-safety operations.
After a major renovation, the building reopened as Bellevue City Hall in 2006. Its adjoining plaza serves as a downtown gathering space for civic events, markets and public art.
